Dear Friend,

With deep regret, and a profound sense of loss, I inform the living world of the heroic demise of my friend  of 45+ years Philip Rosenbaum who lost a short battle with lung-cancer,  on the second day of Shavuot,  June 4, 2014.

Fivish;  as I liked to call him, was only 65 years old, but like King David who shares the yahrzeit, will long be remembered as a commensurate teacher and a good father to Robert and Steven,  the role-model supreme to his sisters Rachel Goldenthal and Julie Flantzbaum, and as a Mensch and good friend to the rest of us who knew him.

Memorial services were held at Sinai Chapels, Friday, June 6, 2014 at 12:45 under the more than capable direction of Rabbi Robert Block; with interment at Wellwood Cemetery, West Babylon, NY immediately following. Shiva is being observed at Julie’s house, 38 Woodland Drive, East Islip, NY 11730.

Yours truly,

Ira Mankowitz
